The current editions of the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP), European Pharmacopoeia (EP) and Japanese Pharmacopoeia (JP) include harmonized methods for the microbiological examination of non-sterile pharmaceutical products. These methods address the total aerobic count (TAMC and TYMC) as well as the test for specified micro-organisms. Harmonized methods facilitate and accelerate the release of pharmaceutical products.
