These staining trough hold up to 10 slides (76×26 mm), or 10 pairs of slides placed adjacently back-to-back.

Jars made of heavy-walled soda lime glass with a relatively high coefficient of expansion, and it should not exposed to rapid temperature changes, to avoid cracks caused by tensions.
