- Description:ABLE K competent cells, reduces copy number of common cloning vectors by 10-fold, allowing toxic clones to replicate, 5×0,2 ml
- Seq:05
- Environmentally Preferable:
- Pk:1 mL
ABLE Competent Cells for toxic clones reduce copy number four to ten fold compared to the XL1-Blue strain.
- Reduces the copy number of ColE1-derived plasmids (such as pUC and pBluescript® plasmids) four-fold
- Decreases level of cloned protein product to increase cell viability
- Transformation efficiency of 5×10⁶ to 2×10⁷ transformants/µg
- Also available in an electroporation-competent version
ABLE C Competent Cells for toxic clones enhance the probability of cloning DNA encoding toxic proteins. By reducing the copy number of ColE1-derived plasmids, the ABLE C strain decreases the levels of cloned gene products and enhances the probability of propagating a toxic clone.
The ABLE C Competent Cells provide a viable alternative to commonly used cloning vectors with high copy numbers. Positive clones observed on initial screening of lambda libraries can be excised or re-cloned into any convenient vector and can be introduced into ABLE C strains.
