Suspend 30 g of the medium in one liter of distilled or deionised water. Mix well. Heat slowly until the medium is dissolved. Dispense and sterilise at 121 °C (15 lbs of pressure) for 15 minutes.

Tryptic soy broth is used for the cultivation of fastidious and non-fastidious microorganisms.
