ACD (Acid Citrate Dextrose) Solution A and ACD (Acid Citrate Dextrose) Solution B are anticoagulants for whole blood and also act as acidifying agents to platelet poor plasma.

• Solution A: 38 mM citric acid, 107 mM sodium citrate, 136 mM dextrose

• Solution B: 23 mM citric acid, 65 mM sodium citrate, 136 mM dextrose

ACD Solution A has higher levels of citric acid, sodium citrate, and dextrose, offering stronger anticoagulant action and better support for cell metabolism - ideal for blood collection, storage, and platelet preservation.

ACD Solution B has lower concentrations, providing gentler anticoagulation with reduced risk of citrate toxicity - suitable for apheresis and applications involving reinfusion or sensitive cells.
