Avantor offers a broad line of reagent droppers, diagnostic kits, and antigens and antisera, for aid in identifying a variety of microscopic organisms. The visualization of bacteria by means of staining procedures is an important tool for any microbiologist to have at their disposal, and these carefully standardized and reproducible stain reagents help to ensure accurate and easily interpretable results. Stains are also available to provide early detection of positive blood cultures by fluorescence procedures.

Nucleolus Blue™ DCS1 Dead Cell Staining
Supplier: AAT BIOQUEST
Nucleolus Blue™ DCS1 is a cell-impermeant fluorescent dye that selectively binds to RNA within the nucleolus, a non-membrane-bound nuclear compartment responsible for ribosomal RNA (rRNA) transcription and processing. Upon binding to RNA, the dye exhibits strong blue fluorescence, whereas its interaction with DNA results in only weak fluorescence, providing exceptional specificity for nucleolar RNA detection.

Nucleolus Red™ DCS1 Dead Cell Staining
Supplier: AAT BIOQUEST
Nucleolus Red™ DCS1 is a cell-impermeant fluorescent dye that selectively binds to RNA within the nucleolus, a non-membrane-bound nuclear compartment responsible for ribosomal RNA (rRNA) transcription and processing. Upon binding to RNA, the dye exhibits strong red fluorescence, whereas its interaction with DNA results in only weak fluorescence, providing exceptional specificity for nucleolar RNA detection.

Nucleolus Green™ LCS1 Cell-Permeable
Supplier: AAT BIOQUEST
Nucleolus Green™ LCS1 is a cell-permeant fluorescent dye that selectively binds to RNA within the nucleolus, a non-membrane-bound nuclear compartment responsible for ribosomal RNA (rRNA) transcription and processing. Upon binding to RNA, the dye exhibits strong green fluorescence, whereas its interaction with DNA results in only weak fluorescence, providing exceptional specificity for nucleolar RNA detection.

Vectashield® mounting medium
Supplier: Vector Laboratories
Vectashield® Mounting Medium is a unique, stable formula for preserving fluorescence. It is superior to other anti-fading reagents or mounting media for fluorescence microscopy. Some agents retard the rate of fading, but their initial application gives a severe reduction in emission. Others give a good initial reading but bleach upon illumination. Vectashield® Mounting Medium combines both advantages into one product. It provides strong initial fluorescence and retards photobleaching over time. Vectashield® Mounting Medium is supplied in a bottle fitted with a cone-seal cap. A cap fitted with a drop dispenser pipette is also included. The cone-seal cap can be replaced with the drop dispenser cap for routine use and during storage. Mounted slides should be stored at 4 °C. The fluorescence will remain for many weeks.
