Eosin Y ∼99% (dye content), Sigma-Aldrich®
Supplier: SIGMA ALDRICH MICROSCOPY
Eosin Y is a xanthene dye and is used for the differential staining of connective tissue and cytoplasm. In histopathology, it is applied as a counterstain after hematoxylin and before methylene blue. It is also used as a background stain, thereby giving contrast to the nuclear stains.

Eosin Y
Supplier: Abcam
A red fluorescent dye from the xanthene family used as an acidic red stain for cell cytoplasm. Reduces the affinity of Mg²⁺-ATPase for ATP and increases the enzyme affinity for Mg²⁺ at concentrations of 10 to 50 μM. At higher concentrations near 100 μM the affinity for Mg²⁺-ATPase for the ion-activator has been shown to be reduced.
