Pyknometer
Et pyknometer anvendes til til bestemmelse af væskers massefylde (densitet). Et pyknometer er en glaskolbe med et veldefineret, men ukendt volumen. Kolben er forsynet med en slebet glasprop, i hvilken der er boret en ganske tynd kanal dergør at kolben kan fyldes med et veldefineret volumen. Det pågældende volumen kan bestemmes ved brug af vand, idet vandets densitet er kendt. Pyknometre fra VWR kan anvendes fra flygtige væsker til halvfaste bitumener. Hætter kan påsættes for at hindre fordampningsskadelige effekter og graduerede halse på kolber sikrer nemme målinger. VWR tilbyder pyknometre i en række forskellige størrelser og former der passer til arbejde med forskellige typer materialer.
