The primary use of TAE Running Buffer is in agarose electrophoresis for the separation of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA).

  • 50X Concentrated solution: 2 M Tris-Acetate, 0,05 M EDTA (pH 8,3)

TAE has a lower buffer capacity than TBE Running Buffer and can easily become exhausted, however linear, double stranded DNA runs faster on TAE.
