These innovative instruments for open surgery combine cutting and coagulation in one step: The tissue is cut while coagulation mode of the HF generator is activated. Prior to performance of the cut, the scissors are rotated so as to coagulate more robust tissue and larger blood vessels. Bleeding can be precisely controlled in localized areas with the scissors tip closed or slightly open. Surface coagulation is performed between the open blades of the scissors.
