ApolloGreen Stain-Safe DNA dye is a fluorescent dye that allows detection of >0,1 ng of DNA in both agarose and polyacrylamide gels. It binds to both dsDNA, ssDNA and RNA and emits green fluorescence when bound to DNA and red fluorescence when bound to RNA detectable under UV or Blue light and is documented with same filters as similar green dyes. FOCUS™ FASTsilver™ produces crystal clear backgrounds and maximal peptide recovery needed for critical analysis by mass spectrometry. The stain uses an enhanced Periodic Acid-Schiff (PAS) method for detection of glycoprotein sugars. The supplied agent first oxidises the cis-diol sugar groups to aldehydes. The aldehyde groups react with the sensitive glycoprotein stain solution forming Schiff bonds and producing strong magenta colour bands. RAPIDstain™ can be used after glycoprotein staining to detect non-glycosylated proteins and the use of the stain enhances glycoprotein staining.
