Pfu DNA Polymerase, derived from the hyperthermophilic archae Pyrococcus furiosus, has superior thermostability and proofreading properties compared to other thermostable polymerases. It has a molecular weight of 90 kDa and can amplify DNA targets up to 2 kb. The elongation velocity is 0,2~0,4 kb/min (70~75 °C). Pfu DNA Polymerase possesses 3' to 5' exonuclease proofreading activity that enables the polymerase to correct nucleotide misincorporation errors. This means that Pfu DNA Polymerase-generated PCR fragments will have fewer errors than Taq-generated PCR inserts. Using Pfu DNA Polymerase results in blunt-ended PCR products, which are ideal for cloning into blunt-ended vectors. Pfu DNA Polymerase is superior for techniques that require high-fidelity DNA synthesis.

The One Step RT-PCR Master Mix Kit allows rapid, sensitive analysis of gene expression from tissues and cells. It can replace methods for detecting and quantifying gene expression such as Northern blots, in situ hybridisation, dot blots, S nuclease assays and conventional two step RT-PCR. The kit utilises recombinant Thermus thermophilus (rTth) DNA Polymerase, which acts as both a thermostable RNA dependent DNA polymerase and a DNA dependent DNA polymerase. The rTth DNA Polymerase is provided in a 2X master mix with an antibody for antibody-mediated hot start, optimised buffer, and ultrapure deoxynucleotides. Antibody-mediated Hot Start enhances specificity of both reverse transcription and PCR. The kit enables cDNA synthesis from input RNA followed by PCR amplification of the cDNA in a single reaction, with no additional hands-on requirement for buffer changes or adding reagents. Typically, detection of a specific transcript requires only 2 hours.

Pellet Paint® Co-Precipitant is a visible dye-labelled carrier formulated specifically for use in alcohol precipitation of nucleic acids. The 2-minute precipitation does not require low-temperature incubations or prolonged centrifugation. Both RNA and DNA are efficiently precipitated from even the most dilute solutions (2 ng/ml) and the pellet is easily located by its vivid pink colour. The pellet can be easily followed during washing steps and this prevents losses during handling and ensures thorough pellet re-suspension.

The SpinPrep™ PCR Clean Up Kit is designed for the rapid purification of DNA amplified by PCR. The 10-minute procedure involves addition of a binding buffer followed by adsorption of the DNA to a silica membrane in a spin column format. Following a wash step, the DNA is eluted in low salt buffer. This kit removes DNA polymerises, dNTPs, salts, and >99% of primers so that they do not interfere with downstream applications such as cloning, sequencing, or labelling. PCR products from 100 to >12000 bp can be cleaned up, with recoveries of amplified DNA in the range of 60 to 90% under standard conditions.
