Omrørere anvendes udbredt i laboratorier til simple blandingsprocedurer med opløsninger af varierende viskositet og opvarmningsbehov. Varianter med varmeplade bringer opløsninger hurtigt og effektivt op på temperatur, og kraftige magneter i automatiske omrørere sikrer en pålidelig og ensartet ydeevne for alle prøver.
