Magnetiske omrøringsstænger giver effektiv omrøring af prøver via magnetisk manipulation. Mange modeller har en ottekantet form med en central integreret drejering for optimal turbulens under omrøring takket være større overfladeareal. De er ofte belagt med teflon for at give kemisk inaktivitet; lejlighedsvis vil glas være belægningen til brug med de fleste flydende alkalimetaller og alkalimetalløsninger i ammoniak.
