Mikropipetter anvendes til sikkert at levere præcise mikrolitermængder af væsker til test. Den enkle betjening kræver, at topstemplet trykkes ned; når det slippes, suges væsken op. Ved at trykke igen dispenseres den opsamlede væske. Udførelser med fast eller justerbart volumen kan have indbyggede spidsstop for at forhindre overløb.
