Typisk cylindriske laboratorieglas findes med eller uden kalibrerede gradueringer for synlig måling under tilsætning af reagenser. Beskyttede drypstænger rækker ikke ud over standardkoniske samlinger, og de slebne ydre samlinger gør det muligt for beholderen at passe sikkert i en reaktionskolbe.
