Flaskelåg muliggør sikker overførsel af flydende medier ved at lukke glas eller rulleflasker tæt. Forskellige foringer giver yderligere opløsningsmiddelresistens, mens permeable typer effektivt filtrerer under gasudveksling og mediestérilisationsprocedurer. Beskyt prøver selv under krævende forhold som frysetørring (lyofilisering) eller autoklavering med temperaturbestandige låg. Kompressionslåg til mikroskalare reaktionsbeholdere understøtter stabile observationer. Engangs- og genanvendelige gevindlåg fås i mange farver, med eller uden septa.
