Flasker, dunke
Karboyer er solide beholdere, der primært bruges til transport af væsker – ofte vand eller kemikalier. I laboratorier fremstilles de som regel af plast, selvom nogle stadig er lavet af ferrisk glas eller andet brudsikkert glas. Med høj kemikalieresistens og uigennemsigtige ydre, der blokerer UV-lys, bruges karboyer til opbevaring af store mængder væsker, såsom opløsningsmidler og deioniseret vand, uden ændring af deres egenskaber. Karboyer af polypropylen kan autoklaveres og er nemme at sterilisere.
