Flasker til opløst ilt bruges til at vurdere sundheden i vandområder ved at måle mængden af opløst ilt. Højere koncentrationer af opløst ilt korrelerer med høj produktivitet og lav forurening. Til brug i felttest er disse flasker fremstillet af klart soda-lime-glas, så indholdet nemt kan ses. Tilgængelige i forskellige milliliter-volumener, er flasken kalibreret til sin egen prop, da propper og flasker ikke er udskiftelige.
