Septum fås i forskellige materialer og tykkelser. PTFE/naturligt gummi er moderat prissatte tætninger til GC og HPLC med gode kemiske egenskaber. De er ideelle til flere injektioner på grund af høj resealability, men ikke så lette at penetrere som PTFE/RR. PTFE/high performance gummi er et meget rent syntetisk rødt gummiseptum, der giver reduceret baggrundsniveau til specifikke GC-applikationer med følsomme detektorer som ECD eller NPD. PTFE/silikone (T/S) septa er af høj kvalitet, lav baggrund og består af 100 % syntetisk rent silikone.

Microseal septum incorporates two separate sealing mechanisms. These sliding seals eliminate septum coring and the resulting accumulation of septum crumbs in the injection port liner. The septum uses a 23-gauge (0,63 mm, 0,025”) needle or probe with a blunt, truncated conical tip. Since the syringe plunger end details are determined by manual or autosampler compatibility. The advantages of the septum include elimination of septum coring, longer life, consistent and low needle insertion force.
