About this item
Biotin assay medium is a biotin-free dehydrated medium containing all other nutrients and vitamins essential for the cultivation of L.plantarum ATCC 8014.

The addition of a biotin standard in specified increasing concentrations gives a growth response by this organism that can be measured titrimetrically or turbidimetrically.
Dissolve 7,5 g in 100 ml of ddH₂O stirring with heat. Boil for 2 to 3 minutes until completely solubilised. Dispense 5 ml amounts into tubes. Add standard or test samples. Adjust tube volume to 10 ml. Autoclave at 121 °C for 5 minutes. See Difco manual for more directions.
Store powdered media at 4 ºC. Opened bottles should be capped tightly and kept in a dark, low humidity environment. Prepared media should be kept at 4 °C and used within a short period of time.
