About this item
Booms are a selective sorbent which will absorb hydrocarbon-based liquids (oleophilic) and repel aqueous-based liquids (hydrophobic). They are used to stop the spread of liquids and are the first line in spill containment.
- Cover large spills or as a precaution in areas where large spills may occur
- For absorbing oil from areas where water may also be present
- Booms can be linked together by built-in connectors to deploy over large areas
- UV-resistant, they will not deteriorate or disintegrate
- Cost-effective as oil, not water, is recovered
- Can be used outside as well as in-plant
- Mini-booms are ideal for encircling spills and containing leaks because of their tube-like shape
