About this item
Proteinase K (Protease K) is a broad-spectrum serine protease from Tritirachium album.
Proteinase K is used for the digestion of proteins in nucleic acid preparations, especially nucleases. It degrades proteins even in the presence of detergents. The enzyme digests proteins preferentially after hydrophobic amino acids (aliphatic, aromatic, and other hydrophobic amino acids) on the carboxy side.
