Product Details & Documents
Trypsin is a porcine pancreas-derived enzyme that is commonly usedin dissociation of anchorage dependent mammalian cells and tissues.
- Stability: two years from production
The concentration of trypsin is necessary to dislodge cells from their substrate is dependent on the cell type and age of the culture. EDTA, a chelating reagent is added to trypsin solution to enhance enzymatic activity by neutralising calcium and magnesium ions that enhance cell to cell adhesion and obscure peptide bonds on which trypsin acts.
