YMC octyl columns are prepared from exhaustive bonding of a monomeric octylsilane to totally spherical and porous silica gels. The functionalised silica is then treated with a endcapping process. This produces a moderate 10% carbon loading on the standard 120 Å pore material.

  • High coverage monomeric bonded chemistry

C8 columns are well suited for the separation of many compounds which are too strongly retained on C18 phases or require greater retention than C4.
