Spore suspensions are pure suspensions of viable spores from specific organisms of known resistance to various sterilisation processes. These biological indicators are used to validate that bacterial spores have been completely destroyed. The indicator is simply processed with the load in the steriliser. No bacterial growth after culturing indicates that the sterilisation process is effective. Growth indicates ineffective sterilisation.

Self-adhesive, non-toxic, chemical process indicators that change from yellow to red upon exposure to gamma or electron beam radiation. Labels are coated with a UV blocking agent for protection from exposure to UV light. A minimum of 15 kGy irradiation is recommended for sufficient end-point colour development. At greater dosage levels, the radiation indicators exhibit a darker shade of red.

These spore ampoules are ideal for use in validation and routine monitoring of liquid steam sterilization cycles. Spore ampoules are manufactured using hermetically sealed Type I borosilicate glass containing an exclusively formulated Tryptic
Soy Broth (TSB) modified with pH indicator, and Geobacillus stearothermophilus spores. No activation is required; simply expose Spore Ampoules to sterilization process and incubate.

Self-adhesive, non toxic, chemical process indicators change from blue to pink upon exposure to 10 minutes of saturated steam at 121 °C or 2 minutes at 134 °C. Longer exposure will result in a brighter shade of pink. The blue to pink colour transition is sensitive to time, temperature, and the presence of saturated steam.
