2-Iminothiolane hydrochloride (Traut's Reagent)
Supplier: G-Biosciences
Traut's Reagent is used for the preparation of disulfide bridges or for the generation of sulphhydryl groups for conjugation. This is a small, water-soluble compound that reacts with primary amines under mild conditions (pH 7 to 10, 25 °C) for thiolation (sulphhydryl addition).

Proteome kits, FOCUS™ Bacterial Proteome
Supplier: G-Biosciences
Specifically designed for bacterial research and supplied with bacteria specific reagents. Extracts and solubilises nearly all of the proteins from E.coli, including membrane as well as soluble proteins. Extraction is based on the gentle lysis of bacterial cells with LongLife™ Lysozyme enzyme, followed by extraction of total proteome with the supplied strong chaotropic extraction buffer that solubilises even the most difficult proteins.

Experimentation kits, physical properties of proteins
Supplier: G-Biosciences
The physical properties of proteins kit is a lab activity that enables students to investigate the physical properties of several different proteins. Students will learn about protein solubility and how it is affected by various parameters; including temperature, pH, salt and dielectric constant. They will understand about protein precipitation due to pH, high salt and in the presence of organic solvents and about protein denaturation as a result of high temperature. In addition, the kit will demonstrate how non-protein agents, such as detergents drastically alter the physical properties of protein molecules and as a result, understand the importance of detergents in protein solubilisation. This lab activity involves analysis of three different types of pure proteins and then students alter some of those properties with a detergent and re-examine physical properties of those proteins. Students are challenged to consider how physical properties of protein molecules can be exploited for purification and characterisation of proteins and apply their findings on a test sample of complex tissue extract.

GET™ CLEAN DNA Kit
Supplier: G-Biosciences
GET™ CLEAN DNA uses high binding affinity GET™ spin columns to remove salts, enzymes, unincorporated nucleotides, radiolabels, and primer-dimers from any DNA preparation of 100 bp to 20 kb. GET™ spin columns has an enhanced binding affinity for DNA, thus eliminating loss or damage of DNA.

Nucleic acid and protein destain, Silver D-Stain™
Supplier: G-Biosciences
The staining of gels with silver stains often results in over-staining or unevenly stained gels. Silver D-Stain™ eliminates the need to repeat the electrophoresis.

Washing solution, Protein-OUT™
Supplier: G-Biosciences
Protein-OUT™ is a washing solution that cleans plastic and glassware used in the proteolytic digestion and peptide isolation for mass spectrometry analysis. The rinsing of plastic and glassware with Protein-OUT™ will remove interfering chemicals and peptides that can leach from the tube walls and interfere or suppress the mass spectrometry signal. In addition, rinsing with Protein-OUT™ removes inadvertent contamination with dust and keratin.

3,3',5,5'-Tetramethylbenzidine dihydrochloride hydrate
Supplier: G-Biosciences
TMB is an excellent colorimetric substrate for detection of horseradish peroxidase labelled probes and is used with peroxidase and peroxidase coupled systems, particularly in ELISA techniques. It produces a soluble end product, which is blue in color and can be read spectrophotometrically. TMB has also been used in the quantitative determination of hemoglobin and in cytochemical staining for peroxidase. TMB is a hepatitis B antigen.

4-Nitrophenyl-beta-D-mannopyranoside
Supplier: G-Biosciences
A synthetic chromogenic substrate used primarily to detect and quantify beta-D-mannosidase activity. Upon enzymatic hydrolysis, it releases 4-nitrophenol, which produces a yellow color measurable spectrophotometrically at 405 nm. This compound is widely used in enzyme assays, biochemical research, and carbohydrate metabolism studies.

Protein concentration kit, Column-PROTEIN-Concentrate™
Supplier: G-Biosciences
The Column-PROTEIN-Concentrate™ Kit has been specifically developed for concentration of those proteins that cannot be concentrated either by precipitation or other techniques. The kit is based on a proprietary Protein Binding Resin that binds and immobilises any protein in a low salt buffer between pH 2 to 12. The binding capacity is ~0,5 mg protein/ml Protein Binding Resin.

Experimentation kits, mutation detection and analysis
Supplier: G-Biosciences
A major challenge for molecular biologists and genetic engineers is to easily detect and analyze genetic mutations that occur naturally, causing diseases, or during genetic engineering or cloning, whether deliberate or accidental. Students learn about different types of genetic mutations, including substitutions, deletions and point mutations and about various techniques used to detect genetic mutations. The kit contains all the reagents to screen simulated clinical samples for a mutant gene, using both the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and restriction digestion mapping. Students conduct a simple clinical diagnostic experiment in order to identify a diseased patient.
