Bis(2-methoxyethyl) Ether, Reagent is more commonly referred to as Diglyme and is an organic compound that is a clear and colorless liquid with a faint ether like smell. It is solvent that has a high boiling point and that is miscible with water, alcohol as well as hydrocarbon solvents. Its main use is as a solvent for organic reactions as well as being able to chelate small cations. Its reagent grade means this is the highest quality commercially available for this chemical and that the American Chemical Society has not officially set any specifications for this material.
