M9 Minimal medium salts are suitable for the preparation of M9 Minimal Medium for use in propagation of E.coli and plasmid amplification.

Nonselective for Escherichia coli and Coliforms
M9 medium can be used for maintaing positive selection pressure on plasmids
Maintenance of F’-containing bacteria strains for M13 propagation
Can be made as a sterile 5X concentrated solution and diluted to 1X before use

Media Preparation: Reagents are tested and chosen for their ability to promote optimum growth of E. coli when combined in M9 Minimal Medium Salt formulations. Chosen reagents are combined in the proper proportions according to the formulation listed in the Certificate of Analysis and thoroughly blended for a uniform distribution.

Sterility:
A 56,4 g sample of M9 Minimal Salts was dissolved in water to 1 litre, the pH adjusted to 7,4, if needed, and the solution autoclaved to make a sterile 5X concentrate.
