pI markers

pI markers are lyophilized mixtures of stable, salt-free, highly purified proteins.

• To be used for isoelectric focusing (IEF)

The precisely defined pI of the markers allows a permanent and accurate calibration of sample components. pH gradients and pI can be measured to within 0.01 to 0.05 pH unit. The progress of the focusing experiment can be monitored visually by the focusing of methyl red or cytochrome c.

The markers may be run in parallel with the experimental samples on isoelectric focusing gels. These markers are not prestained.

 : The broad-range pI markers kit contains 12 amylglucosidase markers, carbonic anhydrase B from both bovine and human sources, beta-lactoglobulin A, lentil lectin for acidic, middle and basic bands, methyl red, myoglobin for both acidic and basic bands, trypsin inhibitor and trypsinogen. The high-range kit contains 10 amylglucosidase markers, carbonic anhydrase B from both bovine and human sources, Cytochrom C, beta-lactoglobulin A, lentil lectin for acidic, middle and basic bands, myoglobin for both acidic and basic bands and trypsinogen. Kits are not for use in denaturing (urea) systems.
