T-2-Triol is classified under the trichothecene family of mycotoxins that can adversely affect animal and human health. It is most commonly found in agricultural products.

T-2-Triol may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in milk samples and layer feed samples by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
