The bath container is made of high-grade stainless steel with a stainless steel tubular heating element. The upper outer coat is enamelled and the base is made of either plastic or stainless steel.

Type SM features heating elements that can be variably regulated with a performance control between 10 to 100%.

Type SMR features heating elements that are equipped with additional built-in electronic relay switches and an optional output bushing for a contact thermometer.

Without a contact thermometer Type SMR works in exactly the same way as Type SM - with a variable control.
