Caspase-3 inhibitor

Highly specific, potent and reversible inhibitor of caspase-3. Ki<1 nM for purified caspase-3. IC50=0,2 nM for PARP cleavage in cultured human osteosarcoma cell extracts. In contrast, the caspase-1 (ICE) specific inhibitor YVAD-CHO has a Ki=12 µM for caspase-3 and IC50>10 µM for PARP cleavage in osteosarcoma cell extracts. The DEVD sequence is based on PARP cleavage site Asp-216 for caspase-3.
