Navrženy pro detekci konkrétních prvků nebo více parametrů, činidlem nebo indikátorem ošetřené reakční papírky udávají obecný rozsah obsahu pomocí odstupňovaných intervalů. Jednorázové tyčinky se ponoří do daného vzorku a poté se barva porovná s přiloženou tabulkou, což představuje nejúspornější a nejjednodušší metodu testování kvality.
