Hydrometry
Hustotníky měří měrnou hmotnost kapalin nebo půdních zrn, která jsou příliš jemná pro sítovou analýzu. Volně plovoucí zařízení má válcovitý stonek s baňkou se zátěží na spodku. Závaží se kovem namísto olova nebo rtuti, uživatelé jednoduše odečítají stupnici na menisku. Opticky čiré pro přesné závěry mohou být hustoměry kalibrovány pro specifické testy.
