Karboy jsou pevné nádoby určené především pro přepravu kapalin, často vody nebo chemikálií. V laboratořích jsou tyto nádoby obvykle vyrobeny z plastu, i když některé se stále vyrábějí z železitého skla nebo jiných nerozbitných typů skla. Díky vysoké chemické odolnosti a neprůhlednému povrchu, který blokuje ultrafialové záření, slouží karboye k uchovávání velkých objemů kapalin, jako jsou rozpouštědla nebo deionizovaná voda, bez rizika změny jejich vlastností. Polypropylenové karboye lze autoklávovat a snadno sterilizovat.
