Environmentally Preferable Products
Featuring more than 41,000 SKUs globally, Avantor's Environmentally Preferable Product (EPP) program helps our customers make informed, sustainable purchasing decisions by highlighting products that have achieved a reputable third-party or government sustainability certification in at least one EPP attribute category. These categories include improved energy or water efficiency, waste reduction, use of sustainable materials or packaging, and excellence in health and environmental safety standards.
Avantor partners with suppliers to identify and evaluate products for the EPP program, including reviewing documentation that validates a product as a more sustainable alternative to other options. We continue to add eligible products to the program to meet customer needs.
How Products Become EPP
All products must incorporate one or more of the sustainability attributes to qualify for the Environmentally Preferable Product (EPP) green leaf designation. Each product claim is reviewed against a verification methodology that outlines the acceptable criteria which a product must fulfill in order to obtain the EPP designation.
How to access EPPs
EPPs can be found on our e-commerce site, Avantor ScienceCentral, where they are marked with the EPP green leaf icon. When available, search results can be filtered for more sustainable product options by selecting the “Environmentally Preferable” box.
