Desiccants generate and maintain dry air by absorbing the moisture present. Indicating bead options are pre-washed with cobalt chloride to show moisture saturation level by turning colors. In addition to disposable beads, non-friable options are capable of regeneration by simple oven heating. Most desiccants utilize beads made of silica gel for its noncorrosive and inert characteristics. Despite also being nontoxic, silica gel desiccants may come in perforated containers or porous pouches to eliminate ingestion possibilities.
