Caspase-8 Antibody: Caspases are a family of cysteine proteases that can be divided into the apoptotic and inflammatory caspase subfamilies. Unlike the apoptotic caspases, members of the inflammatory subfamily are generally not involved in cell death but are associated with the immune response to microbial pathogens. The apoptotic subfamily can be further divided into initiator caspases, which are activated in response to death signals, and executioner caspases, which are activated by the initiator caspases and are responsible for cleavage of cellular substrates that ultimately lead to cell death. Caspase-8 is an initiator caspase that was identified as a member of the Fas/APO-1 death-inducing signaling complex. The adaptor molecule FADD couples procaspase-8 to the Fas receptor death domain; subsequent oligomerization promotes procaspase-8 autoactivation. FLIP, a catalytically inactive caspase-8-like molecule inhibits these interactions and thus can inhibit apoptosis. This antibody will only detect isoform E of caspase-8.

Lipoma preferred partner (LPP) is encoded by the preferred fusion partner gene of the high mobility group protein HMGI-C. LPP is frequently affected by chromosomal translocations in a major group of soft tissue lipomas, as well as in a parosteal lipoma and in pulmonary chondroid hamartomas. The resulting fusion proteins comprise three DNA binding domains of HMGI-C fused to two or three C-terminal LIM domains of LPP and a reciprocal product, respectively. Expression of a HMGI-C/LPP fusion protein causes malignant transformation of fibroblasts. Similar to its relatives zyxin and TRIP (thyroid receptor interacting protein 6) / ZRP-1 (zyxin-related protein 1), LPP consists of a N-terminal proline-rich domain followed by three C-terminal LIM domains (double zinc finger structures that are involved in protein-protein interactions). Like the cytoskeletal protein zyxin, LPP localizes to focal adhesions and cell-cell adherens junctions. LPP harbors a nuclear export signal and displays transcriptional activation capacity.

SH3BP4 Antibody: SH3BP4 was initially isolated as a novel cDNA using differential display analysis using cultured human corneal fibroblasts. The protein contains three Asn-Pro-Phe (NPF) motifs, an SH3 domain, a PXXP motif, a bipartite nuclear targeting signal, and a tyrosine phosphorylation site. SH3BP4 has been shown to interact with specific endocytic proteins such as clathrin, dynamin, and the transferrin receptor (TfR) and localizes to TfR-containing coated pits and vesicles. It is thought to be involved in cargo-specific control of clathrin-mediated endocytosis, specifically controlling the internalization of TfR. At least two isoforms of SH3BP4 are known to exist.
