The Quick-DNA™ Fecal/Soil Microbe Kits are designed for the simple and rapid isolation of inhibitor-free, PCR-quality DNA from microbes in soil and feces. This kit can be used to isolate DNA from variety of soils (clay, sandy, silty, peaty, chalky, and loamy) and feces (humans, birds, rats, mice, cattle and more). Tough-to-lyse bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and algae are all rapidly and efficiently lysed by bead beating with our state-of-the-art, ultra-high density BashingBeads™. Zymo-Spin™ Column or Plate technology is then used to isolate the DNA, which is subsequently filtered to remove humic acids/polyphenols that can inhibit PCR. The procedures can be performed in minutes, and there is no need for organic denaturants or proteinases. Eluted DNA is ideal for downstream molecular-based applications including PCR, arrays, genotyping, methylation detection and more.
