Glass body has an internal screwthread into which is fitted the rubber sealing ring sheathed with PTFE. Tubing is pushed through the screwthread fitting, which is then threaded onto the glass body. As the fitting is tightened, the sealing ring is compressed to form a seal between the tubing and the body. Only glass and PTFE come in to contact and provide a chemical resistant pathway.
