n-Eptano
n-Heptane (C₇H₁₆) is a straight-chain aliphatic hydrocarbon with a boiling point of 98 °C, low polarity, and high volatility. It serves as a standard reference fuel for octane rating determination and as a nonpolar solvent in analytical chemistry and industrial cleaning. n-Heptane is also employed in the formulation of adhesives, coatings, and polymer processing. Due to its rapid evaporation rate and flammability, it should be handled in well-ventilated areas and stored in tightly closed containers away from ignition sources.
