Idrometri
I densimetri misurano la gravità specifica di liquidi o granuli di suolo troppo fini per l’analisi al setaccio. Il dispositivo galleggiante libero ha un fusto cilindrico con un bulbo zavorrato alla base. Appesantiti con metallo invece di piombo o mercurio, gli utenti leggono semplicemente la scala graduata al menisco. Otticamente chiari per conclusioni precise, i densimetri possono essere calibrati per test specifici. Le suddivisioni di intervallo e i livelli di accuratezza differiscono tra gli strumenti per l’analisi della densità relativa.
