Bottiglioni
I carboy sono contenitori rigidi utilizzati principalmente per il trasporto di liquidi, spesso acqua o sostanze chimiche. Nei laboratori, sono solitamente realizzati in plastica, anche se alcuni modelli sono ancora prodotti in vetro ferrico o altri vetri resistenti agli urti. Grazie all'elevata resistenza chimica e alle superfici opache che bloccano la luce UV, i carboy conservano grandi quantità di liquidi, come solventi o acqua deionizzata, senza alterazioni. I carboy in polipropilene sono autoclavabili per una facile sterilizzazione.
