Ciò consente di contenere anche sostanze organiche volatili o sostanze chimiche non pericolose per periodi di tempo prolungati. Le bottiglie in vetro, trasparenti o colorate, possono resistere a temperature più elevate e contenere sostanze chimiche sensibili alla luce.
