I sistemi di fotodocumentazione consentono ai ricercatori di visualizzare e acquisire immagini di gel fluorescenti e sono progettati per l’imaging a fluorescenza. Questi sistemi includono un transilluminatore, un filtro, una fotocamera e impostazioni di camera oscura tramite una piccola cappa o porte chiuse. Le applicazioni includono contaminazione dei liquidi, studi di microbiologia, test antibiotici e studi sull’igiene. Le fotocamere ad alta risoluzione producono immagini in bianco e nero o a colori e le immagini possono essere salvate su una scheda di memoria o stampate direttamente dalla maggior parte delle unità.
