Le perle sono progettate per ridurre i tempi operativi, isolare le proteine tramite legame di affinità e pulire le apparecchiature. Più sicure della conduzione del calore attraverso l’acqua, le perle da bagno non producono schizzi pericolosi né evaporano, il che può causare la rottura della vetreria fragile. Le sfere da coltura consentono alle cellule di espandersi e controllare la sintesi. Le sfere sono fabbricate in vari diametri e materiali per soddisfare requisiti procedurali specifici. Richiedendo meno manutenzione rispetto alle alternative, le perle riducono al minimo il tempo complessivo di preparazione.
