G-Biocide-III is sodium azide based preservative. Azide anions bind to trivalent iron in porphyrin complexes and inhibit the activity of catalase, peroxidases and cytochrome oxidases. It acts as bacteriostatic by inhibiting cytochrome oxidase.

A 1% aqueous solution of sodium azide [154 mm] for use as a preservative for laboratory reagents. Used as preservative to preserve wide range of research reagents such as buffers, blocking solutions for ELISA, chromatography resins and Immunoglobulins storage solutions.
