Tris is widely used as a component of buffer solutions, such as in TAE and TBE buffer, especially for solutions of nucleic acids.
These solutions were aseptically filtered through a Millipore 0,22 µm filter into clean, pre-sterilized containers. The products were tested on trypticase soy agar for 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours and was found to be negative for bacteria.
