The 1X Park and Terasaki's Modification of McCoy's 5A medium is used for the primary culture of cells from a wide range of tissues. Recommended for production of virus in primary cell cultures.

The media is ideally suitable for the propagation of leukocytes, biopsy tissues, a broad range of human and rat normal and transformed cell types, and the most demanding primary and continuous cell lines. This formulation has also be used in the culture of bone marrow, skin, gingiva, kidney, omentum, adrenals, lung, spleen, rat embryos, and other cell types.
